Meet Dr. Blake Jones

Dr. Blake Jones

Blake Jones is from Idaho Falls, ID, where he grew up enjoying the outdoors and sports. Blake attended Brigham Young University in Idaho, graduating with a degree in Biology. In 2001, Blake took a two year hiatus from his studies to serve a church mission in California and Peru and now speaks fluent Spanish. Shortly thereafter, Blake married his high school sweetheart Jenny.

 

Dental school sent Blake and his family to Cleveland, OH where he attended Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine from 2006-2010. Blake received a Health Services Scholarship from the United States Air Force while in Dental School and commissioned as an officer in the USAF in 2007. Following graduation he accepted a position in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. The AEGD strengthened Blake’s skills in advanced dental procedures such as root canal therapy, surgical procedures (wisdom teeth extractions and implant placement), intravenous sedation, treatment in sleep apnea, and orthodontics.

 

Following residency, the Air Force transferred the Jones family to England. They served a three year tour at RAF Lakenheath, near Cambridge, UK. Blake enjoyed his career in the Air Force and contributed greatly to the mission of the 48th Dental Squadron. He managed programs in community outreach and education, preventive dentistry, forensic dentistry, children’s dental health month, and supported the specialists when manning was low. He particularly enjoyed his time in the Pediatric clinic, where he developed a love of working with children. The Jones family loved traveling around the United Kingdom and Europe and will forever remember their time “across the pond.”

 

Upon completion of his Air Force commitment in 2014, Dr. Jones joined forces with his England dental colleagues in North Carolina where they would raise their children in “the country’s best place to raise a family.” The Jones family is very happy to call Raleigh home.

 

Blake and Jenny have six children (3 girls, 3 boys) that have been born all around the world. They love playing sports, hiking, biking and raising their kids together in the home, woods, and community. They love serving others in the community (scouts, sports, and in reaching out to the needy) and in their church. They have a strong faith in God and recognize His hand in blessing their lives.

Dear Patient:
 
We hope this message finds you safe and healthy as we all collectively do our best to navigate the COVID-19 health crisis. Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout these challenging times. Because the health and safety of our patients and community is paramount, it has been necessary to limit our patient care to urgent and emergency care over these last few months.

As we have closely followed recommendations from the North Carolina Dental Board, CDC, and other reputable health organizations, we recognize the importance of regional-specific guidance based on the most comprehensive, accurate, and current scientific literature and data available. While community guidelines may continue to evolve, we must continue to make our treatment decisions based on the best knowledge available. It is our job to help improve the health of our patients by approaching comprehensive dental treatment PROACTIVELY, not just reacting after the compromise has become irreversible in nature.

With this in mind, we have made the decision to safely reopen our doors to ALL PATIENTS beginning Monday, May 11th. This means routine dental care, such as cleanings and simple restorations, will resume. When you come to our office you will notice the following elevated measures and precautions that we believe are necessary to maintain until we emerge from this COVID-19 environment (and likely thereafter):  

  • Sanitation stations in the front desk/waiting area
  • Anti-microbial Hydrogen Peroxide mouth rinses before the start of each appointment
  • Hi-Evacuation suction for hygiene appointments to minimize cavitron-related aerosols
  • Patient entrance doors will remain open to reduce contact 
  • Mandatory pre-screening questionnaire over the phone when appointments are confirmed and upon arrival to the office, in addition to temperature checks of ALL STAFF and PATIENTS
  • Patients will wait in their vehicles until their appointment begins
  • Limited access to patient waiting areas and operatories whenever possible (e.g. restricted to patients, parents of young children, translators, service animals, special needs assistance, etc.)
  • Enhanced social distancing measures throughout the office 

This is not the first crisis that we have endured as a state or as a nation, and we look forward to overcoming this event better, stronger and more resilient than ever before. We cannot thank you enough for trusting us with your oral health.
