Dr. Jiger Shah

Royal Oak Dental Group
Welcomes Dr. Jiger Shah and Family

To Our Newly Acquired Durham Location

Born in Toronto, Dr. Jiger Shah was raised in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that he became a diehard Buckeye fan (Go Bucks!). Dr. Shah attended THE Ohio State University where his curiosity for dentistry grew. He immersed himself in the dental community at Ohio State, which led to a passion for the profession. While there, he met his wife, Pinal. Dr. Shah received his bachelor’s degree in 1998.

In 2002, Dr. Shah earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. Immediately after graduation his wife brought him to the Triangle to further her studies. The couple fell in love with the area and decided to make North Carolina their home. Dr. Shah successfully operated his own dental practice in Cary for 13 years. During that time, he had twins and 1 more child…all boys!

Dr. Shah is honored that Dr. Pyle has entrusted him to take over the care of his patients. Dr. Pyle established an amazing practice offering quality dental care and commitment to his patients. Dr. Shah is excited to continue his dental career with Royal Oak Dental Group and the patients of Dr. Pyle. He will strive to build strong relationships with all patients. This means taking the time to learn how he can gain and maintain trust for optimal oral health. Dr. Shah believes strongly in a patient-centered approach. He has always ascribed to the motto “Never Fear the Dentist Again”. “If we can just listen to our patient’s wants and needs, the anxiety towards treatment can be reduced or overall eliminated. This leads to better outcomes and happier smiles!”

Dr. Shah enjoys traveling, camping, golf and of course, college football. As a family, they enjoy giving back and volunteering in the community through charities and food pantries. He is also fluent in Gujarati from western India.

Lastly, we know that change is not always easy, but we will work hard to make a very smooth transition and make you comfortable with our new look, including NEVER wearing “Carolina Blue”!

Royal Oak Dental Group is proud to provide a full scope of dental health services to patients from Raleigh, Cary, Siler City, Chapel Hill, Durham, North Hills, Wake Forest, Garner, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, Wendell and Morrisville, NC, as well as the greater Triangle area.

Dear Patient:
We hope this message finds you safe and healthy as we all collectively do our best to navigate the COVID-19 health crisis. Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout these challenging times. Because the health and safety of our patients and community is paramount, it has been necessary to limit our patient care to urgent and emergency care over these last few months.

As we have closely followed recommendations from the North Carolina Dental Board, CDC, and other reputable health organizations, we recognize the importance of regional-specific guidance based on the most comprehensive, accurate, and current scientific literature and data available. While community guidelines may continue to evolve, we must continue to make our treatment decisions based on the best knowledge available. It is our job to help improve the health of our patients by approaching comprehensive dental treatment PROACTIVELY, not just reacting after the compromise has become irreversible in nature.

With this in mind, we have made the decision to safely reopen our doors to ALL PATIENTS beginning Monday, May 11th. This means routine dental care, such as cleanings and simple restorations, will resume. When you come to our office you will notice the following elevated measures and precautions that we believe are necessary to maintain until we emerge from this COVID-19 environment (and likely thereafter):

  • Sanitation stations in the front desk/waiting area
  • Anti-microbial Hydrogen Peroxide mouth rinses before the start of each appointment
  • Hi-Evacuation suction for hygiene appointments to minimize cavitron-related aerosols
  • Patient entrance doors will remain open to reduce contact
  • Mandatory pre-screening questionnaire over the phone when appointments are confirmed and upon arrival to the office, in addition to temperature checks of ALL STAFF and PATIENTS
  • Patients will wait in their vehicles until their appointment begins
  • Limited access to patient waiting areas and operatories whenever possible (e.g. restricted to patients, parents of young children, translators, service animals, special needs assistance, etc.)
  • Enhanced social distancing measures throughout the office

This is not the first crisis that we have endured as a state or as a nation, and we look forward to overcoming this event better, stronger and more resilient than ever before. We cannot thank you enough for trusting us with your oral health. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns, and let us know if there is anything we can do to better serve you.
