Chapel Hill Team
Dr. Daniel Woolf
Hello friends, my name is Dr. Daniel Woolf and I am excited to return to Chapel Hill and join the excellent team at Royal Oak Dental Group.
I was born in Redding, CA but spent many of my early years in Washington State. I also lived in Arizona and Virginia before serving a church mission back in California. I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where I received a B.S. in Zoology in 2000.
I attended UNC-Chapel Hill for dental school and graduated with my D.D.S. in 2004. While I was a student at UNC, I did dental rotations at a Veteran’s Affairs hospital in Washington, D.C; the Butner Youth Correctional Facility, and several public health clinics across North Carolina. After graduation, I completed a one year residency at the Fayetteville Veteran’s Affairs hospital.
I have been in private practice since 2005 and I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry. Helping people achieve and maintain dental health is why I became a dentist. I feel that Royal Oak’s team approach to dentistry is the most effective and beneficial way to accomplish this.
My wife Susan and I have three wonderful children. We love North Carolina and are glad to call it home. We especially enjoy the beaches and warm summer days. We are active in our church and community and love the southern hospitality that is so prevalent here.
I am honored for this opportunity to serve you here in Chapel Hill. I look forward to meeting you and helping with all your dental needs.

Hi, I’m Amy and I am a Dental Hygienist at Royal Oak Dental Chapel Hill. I am originally from a small town in California but have called North Carolina my home state for the past sixteen years. I received my Dental Hygiene Certification from UNC Chapel Hill in 2008. I really enjoy the combination of providing both healthcare and education to the general population making Dental Hygiene the perfect fit for me.
Amy’s bright smile and bubbly personality make any dental visit a comfortable and pleasant experience. When Amy is not busy cleaning up smiles, you can find her managing her household of 6 or mowing her many acres of property. Amy is involved in youth sports and enjoys coaching. Amy also loves having friends and family come to visit.
The one thing at the very top of Amy’s bucket list is to travel the world.

Hi I’m Melissa. I’m originally from Ontario, California but after many years of travelling with my husband in the United States Marine Corps, we have chosen to call North Carolina our home.
I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. The one thing I love most about working in dentistry is making people feel confident in their smile.
Melissa is always up for a laugh. In her spare time, Melissa likes to run, knit and spend time at the lake with her family.
One day Melissa would like to visit the dead sea.
Hello, I’m Jean and I’m a Dental Assistant at Royal Oak Dental Chapel Hill. I was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. I obtained my math degree from UNC Greenboro in 1991 after which I taught for many years. It was through some personal experiences that made me change my career path and dive head first into the wonderful world of Dentistry. I obtained my Dental Assisting Certification from Guilford Tech Community College in 2016.
Jean’s well spoken manner and high drive to perfect and learn make her a great fit for us here at Royal Oak Dental Chapel Hill. When Jean is not in the office, you can find her out on the tennis court and is a part of the United States Tennis Association. Jean also enjoys biking, hiking, cooking, travelling and exploring new foods and different cultures.
One day Jean would like to visit London, England.
Hi everyone, I’m JoAnna. I was raised in a military family, born in Massachusetts and traveled all over the United States including Hawaii. I graduated from Alamance Community College in 2005 where I studied Dental Assisting and became a Dental Assistant II. It makes me feel good to see people with a smile that I helped create.
JoAnna’s bubbly personality makes her a great fit to our practice. JoAnna is a true movie buff so when she is not perfecting smiles, she’s popping popcorn and watching the big screen. She also loves to cook and bake.
JoAnna would like to travel to all 50 states and at least one country outside of the USA.
Hello, my name is Craig and I am the Practice Manager here at Royal Oak Dental Chapel Hill. I am originally from London, England but have lived stateside for many years. I attended college with the intent of pursuing a Social Work career but as soon as I moved to North Carolina and started working in dentistry, I knew I was in the right place.
Craig’s larger than life smile and ability to multi task are just a few of the things that make him a great Practice Manager. When Craig is not managing the office, you can find him out hiking, travelling or counting down the days till Christmas; his favorite time of year.
One day Craig would like to go backpacking in Australia.
