Dr. Aaron Smith

Dr. Aaron Smith, DDS

Hello, my name is Dr. Aaron Smith. I was born in Seattle, Washington and raised far and wide wherever the Air Force needed my family.

I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Biology. I took a two-year hiatus from my studies to serve a church mission in Argentina where I learned to speak Spanish fluently. I completed dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio on a Health Services Scholarship from the Unites States Air Force. Soon after graduation, I was commissioned as an officer and completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency in Washington DC. Following residency, I served at Kadena AB in Okinawa, Japan and Minot AFB in North Dakota as a general dentist, treating military families and honing the dental skills I learned in residency.

When I was a boy I remember visiting my father’s dental practice and spending hours staring at the aquarium in the waiting area. I asked my dad if I could have an aquarium like his and he told me that maybe one day I would have a dental office and could get an aquarium of my very own.  Prior to this conversation, I was sure that I would be a cowboy; not long after, however, I was telling everyone that I wanted to be a dentist.

My wife and four children absolutely love living in North Carolina and are very happy to call it home! We pass our time playing sports, hiking, biking, traveling and enjoying nature together. We also love serving others in the community through scouts, sports and church.

After the kids are out of the house and self-reliant, I’d like to live overseas again. Not forever, but long enough that I can experience local cultures. My wife and I will have to work out the where, the when and for how long, but our love for travel always seems to nudge us into new and exciting directions.

I look forward to earning your trust and building a long-term relationship with each of you.

Amy Herron

Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH

Hi, I’m Amy and I am a Dental Hygienist at Royal Oak Dental Chapel Hill. I am originally from a small town in California but have called North Carolina my home state for the past sixteen years. I received my Dental Hygiene Certification from UNC Chapel Hill in 2008. I really enjoy the combination of providing both healthcare and education to the general population making Dental Hygiene the perfect fit for me.

Amy’s bright smile and bubbly personality make any dental visit a comfortable and pleasant experience. When Amy is not busy cleaning up smiles, you can find her managing her household of 6 or mowing her many acres of property. Amy is involved in youth sports and enjoys coaching. Amy also loves having friends and family come to visit.

The one thing at the very top of Amy’s bucket list is to travel the world.

Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH

Hi I’m Melissa. I’m originally from Ontario, California but after many years of travelling with my husband in the United States Marine Corps, we have chosen to call North Carolina our home.

I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. The one thing I love most about working in dentistry is making people feel confident in their smile.

Melissa is always up for a laugh. In her spare time, Melissa likes to run, knit and spend time at the lake with her family.

One day Melissa would like to visit the dead sea.

Hi everyone, I’m JoAnna. I was raised in a military family, born in Massachusetts and traveled all over the United States including Hawaii.
